Boy was it brutal, listening to both local radio and XM radio.

I have not heard such bitterness and ire directed towards a single individual ever. Not even when Saban left Miami, it was not the level of outcry as I heard for Petrino today.

Spent an entire 10 seconds with his assistant coaches to let him know he was bolting and quickly walked out of the room. These were assistants he dragged with him to Atlanta and were told to buy into his program.

    Petrino is a spineless quitter.

He will be at Arkansas for 2 years, and then quit again.

The SEC is not better off today by having this man in the league.

It was great when Bob Griese said that Petrino made him sick...Then they had Lou Holtz on the same show (he did what Petrino did BTW) and said that Griese doesn't know what's he talking about since he never was a coach...Funny how Holtz was trying to justify Petrino's actions and his when he left the Jets for Arky...he was saying things like he had said no to the Jets many times and that they were insisting too much...Classic Lou Holtz.

Yeah Holtz is forced to defend Petrino, since he did the exact same thing some 30 years ago, leaving the Jets with the exact same record 3-10 for the exact same school, Arkansas.

Yeah, that was great, it was on ESPN's College Football Live...I wonder how Arky fans feel about this a-hole...Haven't heard anything from them

Everybody in Arkansas is elated. They can't believe they snagged such a high profile coach.

Be careful what you wish for.

thats what he just replied to you.

I guess petrino's only defense is that he took over the team expecting to implement his offense with mike vick at the helm. Not joey heismington.

that entire fiasco of a press conference yesterday was probably the most uncomfortable/ridiculous thing Ive ever witnessed on live tv. At least amongst so-called professional people.

It was so fake, contrived and embarrassing that it is indescribable for words.

he will last at least 3 years. arkansas has a right to be elated. they landed a great offensive mind. all coaches are not good people and leader of men. All he needs to do is win football games but Im not so sure he can match 8.5 wins a year like the nutt did. Id say its unlikely but like saban they are a match made in heaven, at least for the foreseeable future (3 years more for each).

I just dont understand for the life of me why a kid would want to play for a quitter like Petrino or Saban. Neither is much of a man, nor do they have any conviction. Each lacks integrity. Sad thing is both will recruit well and have winning programs. I always pull for the SEC, but now there is two teams Id love to see go winless. Is there is a such thing as honor or commitment anymore in this day and age?

they both get you in the NFL. One with offense the other with defense. Most kids go to school with the visions of an NFL payday or love for their school, not necessarily someone to tuck them in at night.

Most are enlightened to the chaos of the coaching carousel nowadays. if not they are naive although it doesnt make it any more right.

I don't know, but it seems that coaches that go to the NFL and then come back don't do as well, the second time around...Spurrier hasn't been able to get it going and Saban maintained the status quo at Bama...I don't see them being any better next year...I don't think Petrino will do well, his defenses suck and in the SEC you need a good defense to succeed, this in not the Big Least or the Puff 10.
