Until the news starts reporting that we are killing civilians again. I wonder when we started fighting according to the sensibilities of cable news?

    This story makes me sick.
Look at the results before change in policy.
WNYT.com - Fallen soldier's parents critical of Obama

The parents of Army soldier Benjamin Osborn said Thursday that U.S. Bill and Beverly Osborn say that new military rules of engagement are making soldiers on the ground more vulnerable to attack, including they say, in the final battle that took their son's life.

"They were ambushed they were under attack and they couldn't fire until they were ordered to do so," Ben's father Bill Osborn said.

    Here is a news flash:

"Woe to the government, which, relying on half-hearted politics and a shackled military policy, meets a foe who, like the untamed elements, knows no law other than his own power!"

Oh sorry, that has been around since 1832. Clauswitz, On War

178 friggin years and we still haven't figured it out!

the rules of engagement don't prevent you from using force in self defense

Maybe some of the changes to the rules of engagement should be to use the cable news reporters to lead the attacks.

    It really is sad.

It is a good thing I am not in charge because this war would have been long gone with a few bombs in the right place. We did it to Japan, why not terrorist?

The rules of engagement we have now are reminiscent of the stupid policies that led to the loss in Vietnam. I thought we had learned from that experience. I hope there is a change and fast.
