The one pass he caught on Peterson for 22 yards was a push off.

The other reception was a 5 yarder.

I can't remember another pass he caught with one on one coverage. The rest was zone play or Hawkins.

He did get beat badly on what would have 80 yard touchdown, but it didn't happen.

    AJ Green is a beast.

Peterson is a player ready for the NFL.

Great play by Peterson in the endzone knocking the ball away from Green.

    Kid looks great!

At this point do you think he is better than Webster was @ LSU?

One of the only complaints Id have on the coaching is why wasnt Peterson matched up all game on Green? I think Peterson should match up one on one with every opponents top WR, shadowing him all game. The zone is a waste with a talent like Peterson.

He has more potential than Webster and is better all around at this stage. Coverage wise is pretty even IMO. Webster was a stud as well as a Soph. Webster is better in zone than Peterson. Peterson is the better tackler. Man coverage is a push, both shut down CBs. Although I think Peterson will surpass him there too.

Yes Peterson is better than Webster at this point. Although as a converted receiver Webster's ball skills were second to none. I'll take Peterson in technique and athletic ability physicality though. With his length and ability to shut down an entire side, plus his tackling ability, he reminds me of Nambdi Asomugha for Oakland. (I know I just brutalized that name but work with me here)

    Webster blossomed as a Junior.

Peterson is already at that level.

First of all, no matter how good you are as a DB, you STILL need to play zone. Good WR's who run good routes beat good DB's (not always, but most) so you can get off that man-to-man high-horse because it doesn't happen every play at any level.

Hawkins had excellent coverage on AJ. I know Hawkins has been bashed in the past for being victimized on game-winning catches but in this case, only a player of AJ Green's stature could have made that catch.

I don't question zone coverages...but at that point in time, I thought Peterson should have been matched on AJ. Zone or no zone.

I thought Chevis Jackson was better than Webster. Webster was really really good before he got injured, then he lost a step, but he is turning out to be a great NFL corner, just as Chevis Jackson will be. Patrick Peterson is going to be better than both of those guys.
