Well, I'm glad an All-American isn't out. But I'm disappointed about Peterson. They say he can really fly for a tight end and has hands. Lots of aggressive defenses get burned by such a TE.
Lot of people had very high expecations of Deangelo Peterson. One of the best articles I've seen to convey these high expectations said: Unsung star on the rise: Junior TE Deangelo Peterson ... Junior DeAngelo Peterson went from being a decent wideout prospect to a potentially explosive tight end. At 6-4 and 240 pounds, he’s tall, lean, and moves extremely well. A star this offseason and a primetime target for Jordan Jefferson, he should be a huge part of the passing attack after catching five passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns in a limited role ... Watch Out For … Peterson. He’s way too talented and has way too much of an upside to not become a major factor at tight end. He’s going to be a matchup nightmare for any linebacker who tries to stay with him, and while he might not hit anyone with much pop, it won’t matter if he’s a deadly target. Remember that he scored both of his TDs at the end of the year. He was really coming around after what was probably a difficult transition. As good and reliable as Dickson was as a pass catcher, he didn't have the ability to stretch the seam like D-Pete does. He'll add a whole new dimension to our O, provided he can get back on the field.
