A simple google search or a quick look at this site, and you would have found out, bub. Instead, you made assumptions and figured that was good enough. A lot of that seems to be going around these days.

I judged by his performance on and off the field. I didn't make any assumptions, just thought it was odd to change your name once you get on a national stage. I made my judgement with his on-off field performance.

Why does a kid have to be humble for people to say " he is a great person" what if he celebrated on big plays and never got in trouble, would you hate him?

It all seems very stupid and condescending for people to say is he humble? oh then he is a great kid.
    f that!
If your attitude is im the best and I will show it and I will celebrate it when I do show it and you dont have a rape charge or felony, im good with you!

I remember people complaining about Honey Badger being too cocky in '11. I loved his swagger. My dad coached for 40 years, and some of his good players were humble, but others were cocky as all get out. My dad never wanted to do away with that aspect of a player; it makes some guys who they are.

When you were a kid, were you on the field helping dad?

Never on the field. But I spent many a summer in the gym during weightlifting workouts. To this day, I can spot a true athlete at 20 paces. I loved having a football coach dad; it was really fun.

It's not a hate thing, it's an admiration thing. Humble and down-to-earth are virtues that most people admire in celebrities. They will respect an athlete for his athleticism, but they don't care much for showboating, boasting, and taunting. Everybody celebrates big plays in their own way. But the fans know the difference between excitement and hotdogging. Admiration will go to the humble.

That said, many people also mistake confidence for arrogance. It is easy for a boldly confident person to appear boastful to many folks who don't have a lot of innate self-confidence.

I was simply referring to your apparent criticism of the name change. You already said you thought he was going to be some "douche egomaniac" because of the name change. At first, I thought it was questionable, but I squashed it by reading the thread that started here when he did it, which put the question to rest. Sorry to be so aggressive about it with you. I guess I'm on a defensive about our players these days.
