It's like that time Jim Gray asked Pete Rose that gambling/hall of fame question during a ceremony on TV. Jim Gray just disappeared after that.
He went to far and it blew up on him.

The real loser in all this is Michigan. I read all the stories on the Detroit Free Press yesterday and some of the boards. What I came away with it is this. Michigan has very little experience in recruiting a big name coach in today's market. It's very competitive and coaches/agents carry much more power then ever. Yes, Michigan has it's process which I think is arrogant on their part. They need to be careful or they will end up like Bama and Nebraska.

Didn't say Miles screwed it up. Said Herbstriet did.

I have no doubt it was going to happen. Things changed. It is a bit naive to believe otherwise. Sometimes you have to look at things without the P&G glasses on.

None of it matters now. I don't think he would have left anyway once the Tigers found out they were in the championship game.

    From the article you linked...

And, that is exactly how it works, everywhere, every time.

I don't know if I can believe Fiutak...Come on, it would have to be a first when a media outlet has a story and sits on it, allowing the rival network to break the news first...If it was a story about national security I would believe it, but it was about sports...The media just doesn't sit on stories like that.

    I feel exactly the same.

    I feel exactly the same.

If they want to remain credible they wait. For Herbstreet to report what he did, I really think he must have had some credible info. I still think the timing was wrong, but in the news business, getting the scoop is a big deal.

I think Kirk assumed Les would take the Michigan job b/c, like all of us, he had sorta led us to believe it was always his "dream". Well folks, dreams change and maybe he considered his family and their happiness...I have NO DOUBT he was going to talk with them and mull things over after the season, but then he got mad and enough was enough (Glad he wasn't my dad many years ago!!:milesmic: He scared me at that PC)....and well, we all know what happens when you assume....Kirk sure found out!!!
