I find it amusing when reading the negative comments on the board, how much fans don't seem to be paying attention to several things. 1. Les Miles is coaching the same way he has all five years. He always has a good game plan, it just doesn't always get executed well. Do I wish he was more aggressive gameplan wise on both sides of the ball sometimes? Absolutely...but we win! Take the MSU game, missed xp, bad punt snap, missed chip shot, safety at the end, two out of pos. plays by Hatcher. The final score could have been 41-24 or worse. 2. I think we are a year away. We need depth on the OL and the defense needs some depth on the DL, and we are in experienced at some key positions. Plus, I think the players have put extra pressure on themselves because of last year. 3. Look around at the rest of CFB and the SEC. This is another crazy year with no dominant team. Bama looks to be playing well, but they look far from invincible. UF will be good, but after losing depth and Tebow (who's leadership IMO is what has made UF great) but they still struggled with a UT team who struggled with Ohio and UCLA (point: its all relative). Every team has problems. Ours on Offense has been the same since about game four of last year, and that is when Perrilloux left it left us with no exp, and as the QB has developed teams have stacked the box on us. I hope now that as the season becomes real I hope we can get slightly more innovative, but I doubt we will see that. 4. LSU believes they are going to win, remember the nineties folks? This team and even last year's team (Troy anyone?) could have packed it up and lost several times. We a find a way to win and that's foolish to overlook. Name a bad Miles loss, and then tell me another coach who doesn't have one. What's his record against unranked opponents? 5. We haven't had the luxury of a "cupcake" game, outside of ULL, who may be a great Sun Belt team this year. This will benefit us this month IMO. Bottom line, I do think this is more a rebuilding year now, than I did at the beginning of the season. I really think attrition (perrilloux etc) is a big reason for two rebuilding years vs. one. But I still see a wide open SEC race, and team that believes in itself and its coaching staff. Am I nervous? Yes, but I am enjoying watching them play. I live in Memphis with a melting pot of SEC friends, all who would love to have Miles or atleast respect him (I guess because they are objective :yelwink2. :geauxtige:wave:
