OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: Florida vs. Louisiana State by Slevin » Sat Oct 08, 2011 12:52 pm I'm calling the upset special today: good guys 17 Lsu 13 Go Gators! ____________________ THIS! From the lead-off thread of the GatorSports.com forum. THIS! Is why it is soo, soooo dangerous to go out on a limb reredictions, especially given the beat down by 'Bama last week. Trolling the other forums gives us a needed alternate perspective. If all y'all have time, go thru the thread and check out the brain hemorrhaging occurring during Wing's fake punt TD. Actually, the brain hemorrhaging runs throughout the thread. My head even began to hurt (from laughing, I think).
It wasn't a called fake. Player recognition is what brought it about. Just like the Arizona St. game back in '05.
Right. Saw that on posts. Bravo to Wing for reading it & going for it! That's how well our guys are coached.
Seriously, I've never played football (other than powder-puff and backyard/neighborhood) but even *I* know that if the punter isn't being rushed (which he wasn't on the punt just *prior* to this one either that was called back with the flag) he's supposed to tuck and run
And if the end rushes and leaves the gunner uncovered the punter has the option to pass the ball, which one of Les' punters did from the end zone in one game.
LOL... I vaguely remember that one... the option to pass it just isn't the first thing that comes to this 'non-football' person's mind heh, guess that's why I'm a fan and other than size, gender, and age why I don't play
I saw it open in the WV game too. They all fell back as soon as the ball was snapped. We could have run for days on that punt too. Guess it was a teaching point when they watched film.
