Article on scout says that he is really close to making his commitment. I say it is about 80-20 that we get this kid. On the small side but very good in coverage and very quick and fast. :geauxtige
He originally stated that he wanted to make his decision known before Christmas..... We should be hearing something in the next few days, no?
He has been a Miami commitment for a while. He decided to commit to them instead of us because they recruiting him as a DT. So the pipeline from Destrehan to Miami continues, pray to god that Eugene does not follow suit.
Not that I condone lying to anyone, but in the case of Chaz, he wanted to play on the D-line, we obviously are looking for additional D-linemen and at the time, still had a major void in the o-linemen department that if I were recruiting him, I would have made a strong push to get a playr like that by angling for a diplomatic approach: "Chaz, you're obviously talented enough to play on either side of the line. We're still looking for depth along the d-line--specifically a DT to tandem with Al Woods in a few years. Right now, we have Dorsey and Stewart as probable starters, but you can compete for playing time but we have a greater need on the O-line. If we get the number of true O-linemen that we need, great--you can focus on defense. But you have enough talent to be flexible and we want to be able to put you on whatever side of the ball gets you the earliest playing time." I would never tell a dual-position recruit that we only want him at one spot.. and I feel you can do that without lying because when it comes down to it, these players want to play sooner rather than later.
