hey islstl, if perilloux is all that, then he shouldn't be afraid of competition. Like mr. lane was, afraid of our 2 young quarter backs. if he's confident in his abilities he should come to the tigers and compete for the qb spot. but going to texas and mack brown isn't a wise choice, if he wants a championship ring. but lsu on the other hand, is on a major football high right now. with sabans new deal done, any top notch player should be dying to come to play for the tigers. we sould be a annual top 5 team with saban at the helm for the next 7 yrs.. can you ever remember a lsu team with so many high quality players ? it's a great time to be a tiger, for fans and players.. come down to tiger town mr. perilloux is a great place to be!!!!!
I think we are a little too obsessed with this kid. Every year one of these guys comes around, so chances are, we sign a guy this good in another year or two that is every bit of good as Perriloux. Yes, I'd love to have him, to be able to groom him for two or three years behind Russell and Flynn would be nice, but if it doesn't happen, I want be too upset, considering we'll probably sign a 5 star QB next year.
WHO WAS THE LAST CAN'T MISS GUY... ...anybody remember an all-world kid from Northern LA named BROCK BERLIN? ...think he wishes that HE would've stayed at home now???? ...first he goes to FLA and Superior bails.. ...THEN he finds out he's NOT GONNA BE THE MAN in Gainesville so he flies south... ...to the goon squad at Miamuh U... ...where more often than not, he found hisself on his @SS... ...Ifn he wasn't throwing a pick... WHERE TH' HELL DID THEY FINISH THIS YEAR??????? Nice job, Brock. See ya in the league. Nah, probably not.
Answer this question for me everyone. Knowing for sure what QB's we have, and knowing we want Perriloux, would it be smart to recruit another QB just behind him in talent named Brian Babin? He seems like a four star QB, and it would be a shame to see him leave. But would Ryan want to wait on the bench a year and RS? If Ryan or Brian weren't so highly rated, I wonder if this would be a QB recruiting year for us. Also, the jury is out on that Reever kid, who supposedly will get a 2005 schollie. I wonder what the hell is really going on in that LSU war room...very interesting.
I don't think we are to hung up on him, no more so than Early and Xavier last recruiting season as well as Big Herm. We want all of the best LA boys to come here that's all. All of em. Let's take a look at the top programs and see what he will be looking at when he has to make his decision: LSU--2 redshirt soph. studs, one a Parade All Amercian, unproven at this time but maybe proven by the time he makes his decision. UT--A true soph. stud and a true junior stud, both HS All Americans OU--A heralded Junior and probably a redshirt freshmam HS All Amercian UM--A redshirt soph. HS All American Ole Miss--A Redshirt soph. HS All American(I think) UF--A True junior HS All American and whoever they signed last season FSU--A true soph. or redshirt freshman HS All Amercian (?) in Xavier Lee and whoever they got the year before USC--A Senior College All Amercian maybe and a true junior HS All Amercianas well as a redshirt freshman HS All Amercian Aty every school there will be plenty of competition but Texas appears to be the chance for a great QB to play the earliest at this time, all of the other schools are pretty loaded.
I agree we are no more hung up on him than any other big time recruit and he is not the only quality QB we are recruiting. Looking at Texas a kid might say he has less competition but a kid epsecially one from La. should look and I think will look very hard at the way Brown handled the QB situation with Simms and Major Applewhite. Perriloux will have to wonder who the next recruit will be who's dad was promised his son would be the starter. :geaux: :lsug: :champs:
According to East St. John head coach Larry Dauterive, three schools currently stand out for the All-American athlete. "If Ryan were to schedule his three trips right now, they would be USC, Ohio State and Texas," Coach Dauterive said. "All three have offered him and all three make a lot of sense for Ryan. He's still looking at a number of schools including LSU, Florida State and several others. Right now he has offers from all of those schools plus Florida, Nebraska, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Michigan, Michigan State, Auburn, Tennessee, Tulane, Texas A&M and South Carolina." As for picking a school, one thing is very important to Perrilloux. "The primary factor for me will be early playing time," Perrilloux said. "I want to play early and I'm looking for a school that will give me that opportunity. This summer, I'm planning to camp at LSU, Texas and Florida State and will also attend the Nike camp at LSU in May." Assuming he shows up well at the Nike Camp, Perrilloux has a great chance to be selected for the EA SPORTS Elite 11 Quarterback camp in Southern CA in July. per Tigerrag IMO he won't come to LSU because he will have to wait for the 2 frosh to graduate. Although he could come to LSU since he has been involved with them for a while.
Take anything Dauterive says with a huge grain of salt. He does not like LSU and usually does everything he can to sway his players away from LSU. Lately, that has been blowing up in his face.
