True LSU has the inside track and has more than just a foot in the door but this guy is going to be recruited hard by some most of the top schools and best recruiters in the nation. We also forget at times that these are 17 and 18 year old kids that are easily influenced by bright lights and a perky set of jigglers(see colorodo). All that being said the biggest impact on his descision may be LSU's QB situation at the time. If either Russell or Flynn win the starting job this year and look like they have the job locked up for the next 3 years it could be hard for a kid with his talent not to shop around especially with the many options that will be available to him. Hopefully the purple and gold blood in his vains will steer him to the Tigers. :geaux: :lsug:
I heard through a friend that knows one of the asst. coaches at his high school. whether its good or not i dont know but that is what i heard.
I know that at one of his basketball games both UT and LSU coaches were behind the bench watching him. And that's the ones that were known, no telling how many visits he's already gotten from coaches all around the country. The talent ahead of him at every school may be one of the most important considerations and I really couldn't blame a kid for looking elsewhere if JR or MF wins the starting job this year and plays great. But almost every great program will have a hyped stud or a player who has already proven theirself ahead of him, a lot of times a true freshman. The guys going to have to compete with a good one no matter where he goes if he wants to play for one of the best.
agreed. it's still very rare for a guy to get more than 2 years as a full starter. don't get me wrong, we all know it happens, but it's still not the norm. you have to find the right place at the right time, and be really outstanding. if he comes to LSU, best case scenario is he redshirts during JR & MF's Soph year, gets a few snaps in mop up during JR & MF's Jr & Sr years, and wins the starting job for a full two years after that. or another likely possibility, JR or MF leave a year early and he takes over w/ 3 years left after beating out whoever remains. it takes a special kid w/ that much talent to be patient and wait your turn though. but i'm sure he has seen first hand what Saban and Co. are building in BR, and hopefully there is enough P&G in his veins to want to stay home. PS: it's still only a few years ago when we would have just wondered whether he was going to either Nebraska or FSU. wow!! are we living in the good times now or what!
You're so right about that, especially a QB who can run like Ryan, he would have been playing in Nebraska for sure as they always raided LA for running QB's.
Robert Lane always wanted to play at LSU, too. If LSU starts a freshman quarterback this year, it will be hard to sign a top QB if he's looking for early playing time, and most of them are. If Miami and LSU do well with Leak and Russell, the blue chip quarterbacks are going to be looking hard at other teams with a senior quarterback. Of course if Randall earns the start, LSU will be such a team.
I am here in Austin, and I just talked to someone today about Perilloux and he said that this kid absolutely loves everything about UT. Take that for what it is worth, but for Dandy Don to not list Texas as one of his schools of interest seems to be missing the mark. Also good point by the previous poster on the fact that LSU's QB situation may send Perilloux somewhere else. If I were as good as this kid is, I would want to go somewhere that I can play right away (with the exception of getting redshirted). If he comes to LSU, he may not play until his junior year at best.
