The kid has a Lincoln Navigator? He's doing better than me!

Perrilloux and his family have closely looked at the depth chart of every school. He might play a lot sooner at LSU than at Texas, where Young has two years of eligibility remaining.

"If I have to go to Texas and learn from the best, I will. That's my favorite school right now," Perrilloux said. "It's not so much what (the schools) had to offer. I can beat anybody out. It's whether there's a coach that can coach a player like me. I want the ball in my hands all the time. I want to be making plays. I don't want to be handing off all the time."

This makes me wonder... He has said that Nick leaving LSU didn't matter, he knew where he was going. Now he's talking about how all that matters is the coach's philosophy on giving him the ball and not using runningbacks all the time.

I think that Mack Brown's philosophy is to create, or allow, a superstar to take over the games - let one person be the team (that's why OU beats them every year - all they have to do is find that one player & contain them). This seems to boad well for RP as he thinks he will be that kind of superstar.

Since when is Vince Young the best? That is one of the most hyped players I've ever seen. HE'S A QUARTERBACK WHO CAN'T THROW! RP had more rushing touchdowns that passing touchdowns - maybe he would like to be that type of Vick/Young QB.

I had thought RP was going to come to LSU for a little while now, but this article really makes me doubt that.

That whole Lincoln Navigator deal is definitely fishy. You know RP has said that the coaches of the team he will commit too already know. Well if that's true it would seem the booster's know also.

What do his parents do? Most people can't afford a Lincoln Nav for their family much less one for their 18 year old kid unless you are really wealthy. Considering they live in Reserve, I don't think that place is humming with rich people.

Somebody has giving him money already. With him holding out like this, it has always seemed like he was waiting for the highest bidder, IMO. If this is the case, screw him, we don't need him. I don't want LSU to risk their program for a high profile dude like this. It could be Lester Earl all over again.

    Three things:

First, his mother and father were already in Baton Rouge, maybe Ryan used the "other" family car to drive over there.

Second, the NCAA has started routinely semi investigating all of the top recruits, that would be way too big of a red flag.

Third, I have to wonder if that writer put that in there just to stir up some
    sh!t.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. It depends on what Brown is telling him, esp. something like, "Well, we could move Vince to WR, if you're that good." I've watched a lot of UT games the last two years (more than I would have like to), and Young is not the liability throwing the ball that he's classified as. The kid is just really inconsistent, but most QB's his age are. I think his terrific running ability tends to make his passing look bad, but there are some signs that he could be a decent (I repeat, DECENT) throwing QB.

You're dead on about Brown and focusing on one guy. That's the story of their program, and why they've routinely struggled with OU (and some lesser schools, for that matter.)

"Texas is my spot," he said somewhat convincingly. "That is where I'm going."
