My mistake on the first point. Thought you had said that. Never mind that...

My point is this: are several D-1 head coaches(Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, Mack Brown, and Larry Coker) so dumb to recruit and start Evangel players if they aren't any good? And your point of them not living up to their "hype" is BS. The only person that had true god-like hype was Berlin and it wasn't like he applied the hype personally to himself...

    Evangel Players:

    1 former starting LSU QB
    Current Miami starting QB
2 Texas players who either start or get major PT
1 current LSU freshmen who is starting at FB

And then several others on top 15 rosters...

So who are you to say Evangel doesn't really produce top talent?

First of all coaches don't purely recruit because of numbers. There was a kid back in the 90's that played for Stephenville of Texas. Kelan Luker. He broke all sorts of passing high school records and wanna know where he ended up? SMU...And it wasn't like he turned down offers from Texas and LSU. The point is, stats only go so far. A lot of the top receivers in the nation out of high school didn't even have close to 1000 yards receiving. You can't say just because a team puts up huge numbers on other teams and doesn't send every player they have to a major D-1 college a failure...Thats ludicrous. I'd like to see a program that does do that because none do..

And your NFL comment is baseless. If we went by that. Utah would send all of their offensive players to the NFL in the first three rounds. It just doesn't work that way. Look at Dominick Davis and Toefield. It's not like they each had 1,500 yards rushing their last year. But they are big players for their teams. Then look at some of these players like Ken Dorsey who put up HUUUUGE numbers but is playing for the hapless niners....

Uhh, . . . Josh Booty was an All-SEC quarterback, chief.

So this is what your posts are all about. I knew it wasn't about football.

Look, Abram Booty may have been a crybaby who transferred when he lost his starting job to Josh Reed. But Josh Booty gave 1 million dollars back to pro baseball to come to LSU, earned the start, and made All-conference QB. Then he left early for the NFL, giving Rohan a shot, which also worked out well for LSU. I've never had a problem with Josh Booty, who is a Tiger through and through and has never said a bad word about LSU.

Coach Dunn is an LSU-basher who I dislike, but the Evangel football program is a fine one and has provided many players to LSU in spite of Dunn and I hope they will for a long time.

Dunn was on record for his past horse **** ... LSU hating

But Nick Saban has somewhat changed things ...

A reformed racist doesn't start dating black girls right away

Steering the highjacked thread back on the tracks

... I have seen the film of the outmanned ESJ team against the Juggernaut Evangel

... no doubt Evangel will be the State Champion

I have never been more impressed with a HS ~A~T~H~L~E~T~E~ on a FB field after watching this game ...

And that includes THE PREVIOUS #1 heroic effort of Dominic Davis & the 1998 Breaux Bridge team against St. James in the 3-A quarterfinals ... Dom Davis was swarmed by a fast St. James team that outweighed Breaux Bridge 40-50 lbs/man ... the single man show Davis put on that night ... watching Davis run kicks back against unbelievable odds ... and watching a superhuman effort as he charged into that killer St. James dee line ... tackled by seven and eight every play ... you could just see him behind a huge LSU OL with the right blocking

... I was in the stands in Breaux Bridge that night ... and later watched some great film ... it truly was one for the books ... until now ...

Watching Ryan Perriloux put on a one-man show against against Evangel was truly a special event for me ... and I have loads of Perriloux film ... this kid & ESJ fell to Evangel that night ... no doubt about it ... but not for the first 45 minutes ... The 3rd and 4th quarters are unbelievable ... I've watched them 8 times this past week ... It's like watching "Rocky" ... you can't shut it off.

Well, the cat is out of the bag now ... Perriloux and LSU ... The rest will soon be history ... 2 or 3 LSU NCs and Ryan Perriloux off to the NFL via LSU just like Dom Davis ... man, what a ride it's gonna be :geaux:

that's an old topic pointed out many times on statewide radio shows to local tv programs. its nothing not stated 1000 times before yet i think most anyone who follows it knows there's a lot of truth to it.

what if the racist is black?

I know most of us think RP is now gonna be a Tiger...

but in an interview with Tigerrag today he said he was still 65-35 Texas and that the Horn fans don't need to worry. He also said that the situation for an incoming QB at Texas is much better since JR is only going to be a soh. while Young will be a junior and that Young told him he wants to leave for the NFL early. Just thought I'd let you guys know.
