ESJ was an outmanned squad against an Evangel juggernaut this past Friday.

A friend at the game said Perriloux hung tough and kept Evangel in the game ... tied 35-35 at the end of three quarters.

Perriloux played in the secondary and was in on every play of the game.

Evangel picked on him with the passing game in a planned effort to wear him out. They eventually did ... winning 62-45 or something close.

The effort Perriloux gave in the game did not disappoint those who went to watch him ... even the 4th quarter picks. The kid had 400+ yards of offense and proved that he has what it takes ... the heart of a champion.

Game film is on its way to me ... I can't wait ... Am convinced more than ever about the greatness and potential of this kid

Here's hoping LSU gets him :thumb:

Go after a bunch of great ones and hope that one of them turns out to be the real deal, just like we do at every other position. It's just harder to tell how good a QB will be evidentally as it seems most of the better ones lately have come from the mid level conferences.

That's because the schools in the 'mid-major' conferences cannot contend with the bigger schools for these ultra atheletes. They cannot just recruit a ton of athletes and hope one turns out to be good - they actually have to scout and recruit based on other factors. So they end up with better QBs - it takes more than a rocket arm or Vick legs to be a great QB. I have not given up on JR - it takes more than a season to learn what it takes to be a leader.

I hope he comes too. I dont think it will break us if he doesnt. The great recruiting classes will soon be in full effect. Most havent played much yet. Next year a lot of them will start seeing the field. I am excited about that.

I still havent given up on JR, but I want what everyone here wants: LSU to win. I dont care if that means JR or RP, or even Flynn, I just want to win :lsug: .

Actually we need a QB who can manage to be successful with little or no pass protection.

    Perspective, people.

In other words, we need someone with a head for the game. Football in general seems to be going gaga over the super athlete at this position. He can throw 80 yards, he has 4.4 speed, he can leap over tall buildings in a single bound! OK, but who are the most succesfull QBs on planet Earth today? Tom Brady, Peyton Manning etc. Do they do any of those things? No. All of that crap is just gravy and can never take the place of UNDERSTANDING the game. In high shoool, a QB can get by on pure physical ability. In college, it's possible, but unlikely. In the NFL, it's not possible. Right now I'm just not sure JM has the brain to make it at his position. He didn't show it this year. Does RP?
