You want one? Put RP back on the team. This is a silly argument. If you cannot believe that RP was going to self destruct, and take the team down with him...there is nothing else to say. I TOTALLY understand that he is the more talented one...and IF he could've stayed out of trouble, he could've been great. But there is NO QUESTION now that he, in fact, could NOT stay out of trouble, and the team is better off that it happened now rather than in the middle of the season. With that, you cannot possibly argue.
I don't now about everyone else, but I'm currently in the intensive care unit after my suicide attempt upon discovering that RP was kicked off the team Fish, I still don't think this anything to do with "leadership." RP has two years left, and will be a fine leader for what ever desperate team he goes to play his last two years of eligibility with (ULL?). I don't know why RP got kicked off the team, yet. All the Les Miles statement said was that he "didn't fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete." Now as for character, I don't think anybody argued in favor of having some child-molester on our team. My argument that what RP did wasn't that bad. It will be interesting to see what exactly RP did to get kicked off the team. Maybe it was some very serious criminal offense, maybe it was something minor (like still missing classes). If RP got kicked off for something minor, I still think its a smart move on Coach Mile's part. It makes Coach and LSU look good by not putting up with any crap, no matter how minor it is. It also gives Coach and LSU and kinda "get-out-of-jail-free card" if we aren't a Top 10 team next year. Everybody will be saying that it was only because we had to kick our QB off the team. Smart move by coach. Geaux Tigers!
Both situations are time bombs. If I had to choose, I would take the depth. I'm sure the coaches are smart enough to have the back up ready if RP had made it though the off season. They have proven that time and time again. The problem now is with the numbers. At the most important position on the field.
I suspect the team is glad the he is gone. How can you prepare for a season never knowing when RP was not going to show up. Our chances of winning the SEC just got better in my opinion. There was very little reason to be optimistic as long as we were depending on RP to lead us.
