We have not only a great OL returning, but an awesome running game. Those two combined will do wonders for whoever is behind center...give them a chance to grow into the position.
Not sure who is going to start. Lee performed the best throughout Spring practice and Hatch did better in the Spring game. Going to be an interesting Fall practice battle. JJ will need some significant time to learn the offense and I think they will try to give him a redshirt unless he is suddenly needed because of injury to Hatch and/or Lee,
A shame to be sure. Both for our program and for his future. However, his repeated incidents, real or imagined, had begun to induce the same level of paranoia we all felt every year with nick and the possibility that he might leave us. It was, and has been like waiting for the other shoe to drop. I would have loved to have seen him flourish but in a way it's almost a relief to have this saga in our rear view mirror. It may be difficult, but at least we know what we are facing. That was probably the worst part for me. Not knowing if or when something else might happen. Oh well. Good luck Ryan.
I don't think anybody believes LSU is going to revert back to the program from the 90's. But one would be silly not to think expectations for next year will be lowered. And that isn't bashing Lee or Hatch, but like you said, they are going to need to develop.
Lowered expectations from the fans might be good for this team...we'll be underdogs again. On a more series note, our chances of making a comeback to the Fulmer Cup have just gone out the window.
