Would love to see RP come to LSU. However, if it involves Mack Brown being sent on his way from Texass, its not going to happen.
I honestly think we have our QB of the future in Flynn or Russell. I think RP is doing Marquise Hill waffles and really stringing us along. He reminds me of Chris Leak in that he is cocky and talented and expects to play immediately. I think it would be ashame if we threw Flynn and Russell under the bus and started RP as a TF. It would probably make more sense for RP to go to Texas if he demands playing time immediately. No doubt that Jimbo is one of the best at developing QB's, and we all know how far along Vince Young has come...
The kid had 7 touchdowns last night.. 7 through the air, 2 on the ground.. and he is returning punts.. definately a freak...
There was an article in the Dallas Morning news this weekend about this very thing. He said in the article if Greg Davis (I guess thats their OC's name) get fired which is what everyone is expecting he said "He will start exploring his options". RP said he signed with UT because of him and if he is fired then he will look elsewhere. Just passing on what i read in the paper this weekend. I would post it but you have to register to the site. (Its free but you get spammed)
The problem with this kid is how he fits into lsu's system.. saban has said publicly that he does not like to have a qb run the ball, especially on the option. This kid needs a very open system, iwth designed runs and freedom to take off.
I don't see Mack going anywhere just because of what he has done for the program from a financial perspective, but I do see UT forcing his hand to fire his best man. He has stated that he would never fire him and would resign first but I think he's probably smart enough not to walk away from such a lucrative contract over a friendship and any true friend would understand such a choice. So since it seems inevitable that GD is gone then that obviously creates an "out" for Perrilloux since he has said that he is solid unless anything changes. All kids want early PT but it's not worth being OU's bitch. I'm sure Saban has been very forthright with him and has told him that the person who is most qualified to handle the job will get the PT and it will be up to him as to how quickly he picks up the system and is able to compete for a starting role just as it has been with JR. It's easy to see where his head was when he committed to UT because the situation there is less complicated than at LSU due to less competition, but as it get's closer to signing day things get more emotional and less objective and I feel good about him becoming a Tiger. I definitely wouldn't say "do or die" about him as far as LSU is concerned but I do think he is do or die for UT since Bomar was basically do or die for them last year.
LOL How can I say ... With the same certainty that God made the little green apples ... Are you impressed with our QB situation this year ... :nope: I want that mobil jackrabbit mofo ~N~O~ ~O~N~E~ can catch ... and gets the first down every time ... I want the guy with the golden arm ... a guy that can throw it almost eighty yards (he can ... ya' know) ... I want the guy who can throw that cross-body strike running and leaping at 4.5 speed ... when he realeases the ball, he's 8 feet in the air I want the guy that never quits ... a guy who's cocksure of himself and has as much an intense hatred of losing as I do ... Sorry, but Saban never said he doesn'tt like his QB running the ball, he did say we aren't an option team and he doesn't know why they ever run it. I'm sure he would rather have his RB's doing 95% of all the running if that works but I'm also sure that he wouldn't mind a QB who can run it, that's for sure.
