No doubt he's one of Louisiana's top WR prospects, and I have seen him on various national rankings, but how is his speed?

I thought I saw on Rivals where Dixon was a 4.6-forty guy? Fast enough? Yes. But not blazing. Does he project more as a possession guy than a deep threat?

I would love to be able to sign Dixon AND Harvin--giving us 2 very capable receivers with opposite styles.

At this point, Harvin would be a dream recruit, but I put more stock in being able to land Dixon, keeping our local talent in the purple and gold.

If any of the QBs have the kind of season we are all hoping for I think our chances of landing him are better than 50-50. Obviously the coaches are well aquainted with the depth chart and will inform Mr. Harvin were he would fit in. I mean suppose JR/MF/RP set's the SEC on fire passing wise and the Tigers make it to the big show, that has to be a big factor in any big time recruit's decision. It almost always comes down to do I like the school, league, and coaches, can I compete for PT, is the program top notch, what chances of a nat'l title, nfl draft chances

    harvin signs with LSU.

I'll be the first to call it.

Ive seen him play up here.

Landstown highschool is right up the road.

Ill be watching him play this season.

I shall be at the games holding up LSU signs and stalking him in a dandy don type way.

    HE WILL BE LSU'S!

I agree with you B.B. And that not even counting players that may want to try the NFL, or even the possiblity of Xavier deciding to run track full-time at some point. LSU has signed 3 WRs in the last 2 classes. I hope we can get 2 maybe 3 good ones this year.

I've watched him play a couple times. He is one of those players you line up anywhere and he will make something happen. He had over 500 yards of total offense in last years state champ. game.

    yeah... RP was like that...

He could have been all-state at safety, WR, QB, CB... lol

    Hope LSU signs this cat...

Anytime you get someone versatile like that, it helps... Look at corey Webster

40 times are a joke. Michael Clayton wasn't a burner at LSU and he had a great career

    BostonBengal,

I'm going to have to disagree in a huge way. Saying that LSU "isn't hardly as deep as we think" is like saying that Jessica Simpson isn't as hot as we think. LSU is every bit as deep as we are getting credit for. Like CFBNews said, every WR on our depth chart will be on an NFL roster and that is pretty damn sick...Sure, we'll lose Skyler, but we'll add Brandon Lafell and whatever other recruits..

i have to agree that my first statement was off.. by 2k6 Bowe and Davis will be seniors (if both are still around) and Hill, Doucet, and Carter will all be Juniors, with Lafell the lone Sophomore (unless he redshirts), so some 2k6 freshmen wideouts would get playing time pretty early on...
