I like Boston's take. We are loaded at receiver right now, but by 06 all of our main guys will be juniors & seniors - leaving Harvin in a prime position to contribute, yet have time to learn the ropes. By his junior year, he & Lafell could be dominating the SEC.

It probably goes without saying, but if we land one receiver this year - I sure hope it's him.

    I'd take him or Dixon...

Dixon won't get a lot of hype b/c he isn't playing WR this year, but if he weren't playing QB, he'd have monster #s again...

    That dude is good...

i hear he will get QB duty...

But I know he isnt as good as Harvin... or else HE would be #1, but if we can't get Harvin, I'd be happy with Ricky...

I honestly, really do like our chances with Percy though...

Ryan and he are friends from a camp, and he wants to be with the same QB a lot of his career, so ESPECIALLY if RP is red-shirted, it would help a lot...

Dixon doesnt have near the speed Harvin does... Dixon needs to just bulk up and play tight end with his 4.66...

Dixon can have plenty of success in college with his speed. For the life of me I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal out of this. You can be a good receiver in college without running a 4.4. Anyway he has run faster than a 4.66 before. Oklahoma just got a commit from a WR that weighs less than Dixon, runs a 4.62, and is also a 4 star. I doubt they are freaking out about it too. People are way too caught up in 40 times.

I saw in SI that Harvin is a state champ track guy. That might be a draw as well.

    Exactly!

The 40 yard dash don't mean a WHOLE lot...

b/c you do not run a straight line 40 yards in a game EVER..

I would be hard pressed to say that Keyshawn Johnson runs anythign more than a 4.6 and he is a damn good receiver...

And he did also run a 4.52 one time, so these things are just a bit finicky...

One bad step, and it throws you totally offf.

Wasn't he injured at the Athens camp where he put up that 4.66? And didn't he also only jump 27" there? I heard that he looked a lot better at the LSU camp, the guy is a playmaker, plain and simple, plus him and RP already have some chemistry. I don't like our chances at Harvin (I'd be thrilled with him, but I don't see it happening). I wouldn't mind picking up Dixon and one of the Bama receivers, Hawthorne would be nice, but White is a damn good prospect too.
