Every day I check out this forum, it's my favorite fan forum. I read and respect most of the posts. We have some very knowledgeable posters on here. We have lots of posts about what's wrong and right with the team, players, and plays being called on the field. How about we try a post that is all positive? I would be willing to bet that our players and their families probably do read some of these posts. Put yourself in that players parents place for one night a week, like the day before the game for instance. If that was your son or grandson on the field what would you say to them? My 8 yr old just started playing this year. His PeeWee team went undefeated. One thing I loved about our coaches is how positive they were. They praised the good and encouraged the players to correct mistakes and worked with them to get better. You could see the kids eyes light up while the coaches were talking to them and when those kids hit that field you'd have thought every game was for the championship. My oldest daughter dated a Alabama player. I hate Bama, but when an article called him the weaklink on the offensive line I told him how he would only get better. Listen to the coaches and work harder than everyone else and he'll be playing on Sundays. Now he's a starter. Little Punk ass. Our team is in a little slump right now but if one of those kids were my son I'd be telling him to just play his best. Make every effort to catch the ball that's thrown your way. Take your blocking assignment to the curb. Open the hole in that defensive line big enough to drive a Ford through or at least Ware their asses out. And if the pass opportunity feels right air it out. Getting sacked is like recoil, not much you can do to stop it so you might as well hit the bullseye anyway. Lets Geaux Tigers! Grab your socks, time to drop the Cocks! L!S!U!
I admire your daughter's taste in offensive lineman. I've tried to say many times to my SEC brethren, here in the den, we are all in this together. Who knew how much?
Going along with the spirit of the thread, I can't think of anyone I would rather have as my coach than Les Miles. I believe that a college coach is much more than an asshole that only gives a shit about winning, even though our HC is pretty damned good at it. He is a great representative of this University, a stand up, classy, family man, who obviously cares deeply about his players and LSU, and Louisiana. He makes me proud to be an LSU fan and former student, even though LSU does that alone also. I'm proud to say that I support this team, and everyone on the roster, and every former player that has had the honor to wear the colors of royalty. Where stately oaks and broad magnolias shade inspiring halls. Geaux Tigers
You are in for a huge bout of negativity if you actually believe that this is only a "little slump". Though your steadfast positivity still gains slight admiration.
If my son was old enough and good enough to be recruited by LSU I would be one proud dad. Slump or not. The tigers are still a force to be reckoned with. They just need to get their groove on.
You're right. It's not a little slump. It's a lot more than that. It's shuffling offensive lines, large numbers of injuries, starting a new QB, losing your starting RB, the absence of a Badger, it's an absence of reliable WR's ... it's a lot of things. These are the facts, period. Many teams likely would have collapsed. We're 5-1 with a close loss in the Swamp that easily could have gone the other way. And we still control our destiny. Think all of this could happen if the players and coaches didn't believe success was in their future? If they didn't wake up every day and think this is MY day? Keep the negativity, I believe with great positive conviction that today and every day is a great day to be a Tiger!!
Alright Tigers! Time to grab your socks and Geaux drop some Cocks! Offense. Y'all hold on to that ball and let's see some points on the board. Special teams. Lets pin them deep so Defense can stir up that backfield like a big pot of chicken gumbo. Tonight is the night y'all come together as a balanced team. Tonight y'all put the college football nega tigers on their asses. It's time to kick ass and take names boys. It's time to be the Fighting Tigers of L! S! U! Geaux Tigers!
