School Penalty Yds/Gm Missouri* 29.62 Alabama 35.51 Miss. State 41.33 Vanderbilt 43.18 Texas A&M* 44.25 Kentucky 44.89 S. Carolina 45.61 Tennessee 47.87 Ole Miss 48.22 Auburn 50.20 Arkansas 50.97 LSU 52.70 Florida 54.84 Georgia 59.80 *one-year stats for A&M and Mizzou. 53 penalty yards a game for LSU is too damn high and needs to come down. But only 35 yards called on Alabama is highly suspicious.
I see a great deal of missed penalty calls. Bama especially! But, penalty yardage has to come down. It seems to happen at the most inopportune moment of the game as well. Stalling a drive or giving the opposing team a first down. Drives me insane!!!!
It's got to at least be human nature to not want Saban throwing one of his little man temper tantrums at you on national TV. I'd bet at least a few refs err on the side of "not completely sure I saw a hold on that play so I'll keep the flag in my pocket" where they would usually go with their initial reaction of throwing a flag.
I'd like to know what the average is for roll turds against all the inferior opponents as opposed to quality ones.
I was going to tell you to enjoy all the free gifts you will be receiving at Athens. Georgia is always in the giving mood. But noticing LSU with the 3rd most penalties, I guess y'all with be giving a few of your own.
Many of those have been offensive confusion: false start, delay of game. A lot of them last year were over-aggressiveness on blitzes with offsides. But we also seem to have gotten flagged for quite a few bullshit personal foul calls that didn't live up to replay. By the way, whatever Nick's paying his line coach isn't nearly enough. Clearly the guy has stumbled upon the secret technique that allows for perfect blocking without any holding.
I'd like to know if the head bob by the center is actually a penalty, I saw pouncey and Barrett jones (when he played C) get away w it for 4 years, but PJ always got hit w a penalty.
Barrett played with his heart and cerebral cortex. Even though he just played center for a season. And remember, it ain't a penalty unless they call it.
