I joined TF last year about this time to get the LSU perspective on Bo Pelini. Just curious, do you miss him down there? I was skeptical at first, but after an 8-4 first year I can see progress at Nebraska. By the way, and please don't take this as a slam (not inteded that way), I never thought NU would have a better record than LSU this year!
:geaux::crystal::helmet: After suffering through the horrid defence we've had this year, I'd love to have Pelini back! In a heart beat! Our defence has been horrible to watch this year. And I agree with you about the records. I never figured LSU for 7 -5 this year, although I thought NU would be improved this year with Pelini. Good luck in the bowls. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
Wasn't his defense that started out smoking last year the same defense that couldn't stop anyone at the end of the year?
Good to hear from you again Ed. I think alot of us were a little fed up with Pellini at the end of last year. Right now, I'd love to have him back, but that's probably because we are yet again fed up with the crap fest we've been through this year. I'm curious. As an outsider who happens to sometimes follow LSU's program, what is your take of our little drama down here.
Pelini will be successfull in the Big XII simply because that conference doesn't understand defense from what i've seen watching the games. His schemes are just outdated in the SEC since we are known for great defenses and schemes need to be updated and switched up regularly, but enjoy it in Lincoln.... he'll have a good year next year.
Good luck to the Tigers as well. In today's parity driven College Football world, a Bowl game is still a good season. Beats the heck out of waiting to see who the new coach will be like I experienced last year. LSU will rebound. I'll call it now -- LSU v. Nebraska in 2 years for the :crystal:
College Football has changed so much in the last 10 or 15 years. If you asked this question in 1995 I would say LSU is in trouble. But parity rules the day. 7-5 this year, playing for the :crystal: the next. That's reallity. Did anyone think Alabama would be in the position that they are this time last year? Don't panic Tiger Nation -- the worst thing you can do right now is overreact.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: It was light years better than this year, and we didn't lose to Ole Piss, Bama or Florida last year. Plus Arkansas was a much better team last year than this year, and Kentucky wasn't no slouch. Last years "D" was also good enough to stop Ohio State in the NC Game too. So yes, I would take Pelini's defence over this year any day of the week. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
