Husker fans, what kind of Defense are you expecting from Pellini? What was your base D when the blackshirts were wreaking havoc? Are you used to an aggressive heavy blitz D?

Looks like Shawn Watson will stay as OC -- I think he will change some, simplfy the terminology, and move to a Nebraska version of the Spread. It's a good move in my opinion. The offense wasn't the problem -- when you score 50 you don't expect the other team to score 65!

Most of the other coaches have Nebraska ties. The only LSU names I've heard are Strength Coach Mike Ekeler and grad Assistant (defensive intern) John Papuchis.

As HC I think Bo will be fine as a recruiter -- with a stong staff all he will have to do is close. He is passionate about Nebraska. He said it, and I believe him -- this is his dream job!

The same thing we saw in 2003 -- Tampa Cover Two base that is aggessive and causes turnovers. Blitz when it's appropriate.

Base D in the Championship years was similar. Monte Kiffin (of Tampa Bay) passed the Defensive philosophy to Charlie McBride.

He will likely be a "better" fit in Nebraska. At LSU we are used to Saban's multiple Blitz formation, very aggressive defenses. More of what Jon Tenuta at Georgia Tech is running these days.

Obviously, I've gotten a chance to watch a couple of GT games since moving to Atlanta and I said last season, when Pelini was a front-runner for several head coaching jobs, that I would like to see Tenuta as his replacement when Bo left.

Hopefully, that is exactly what happens as Tenuta's GT defenses have consistantly been ranked in the top 25 the past few seasons. It's an attacking-style defense (much like Pelini's). And Tenuta's "specialty" is the secondary--and area where we'll have to break a more than a few new guys in for '08.

I think it would be a great fit. :thumb: :milesmic:
