The Pels boat race the Nets on the road! Scored the first 7 points and led by double digits most of the night. Final 130-108. The Big Three go for 74 (BI 28, Zion a quiet 25 and CJ 21), and Trey Murphy showed his newly developed long range, hitting a couple of 3's from Steph territory. At Charlotte Friday.
I liked the NBA in the days of Michael, Bird, Dr. J, & Wilt. I just can't get into todays game & players.
Yeh, when I said he had a quiet 25, I just meant he didn't throw down a lot of dunks (he had a vicious two-hand tomahawk job in the fourth quarter). But it seems like every shot he makes is highlight material, because its just so absurd that someone as big as he is can be not only so smooth, but so fast. He's more than quick, he's sudden, as in "all of a sudden." Man, I hope he can stay healthy this year!
Pelicans 124, Hornets 112. Closer than the opener, but another wire-to-wire job. Haven't seen the hilites yet (My cable system won't pick up Bally because they're too expensive, I'm thinking about getting the league pass, but tonight it said not available because it was available in my area. That means Bally....greedy assholes) JV with 30 and 17, BI with 28, but 5 turnovers, maybe feeling some rust after the opening game adrenaline. Ditto Zion, he only had 16 on 7 of 19 shooting. But the most important stat is 2 games, 2 wins.
So much for 82-0.... Jazz 122, Pels 121 in OT in the home opener. Ingram and Zion both injured. Didn't see what happened to BI, but possible concussion and left in the first half. Zion got intentionally fouled on a breakaway early in the fourth and landed on his ass hard....hip contusion. I'd figure both will be out for at least a couple of games. Still, with both of those guys out, the rest of the team came back from a 15-point deficit with about 9:00 left and forced OT. CJ had 28 with 12 assists, 25 for Zion, Trey Murphy 16.
