First year wonderboy, goes 10-6 and leads the Saints to depths it had never seen before.

Second year a huge disappointment. Give him a flyer.

Third year, it appears to be slightly worse and possibly going in the wrong direction. Saints busy learning new ways to lose ball games.

Haslett's weakness, he refused to get rid of Aaron Brooks. His offense failed miserably late in games time and time again. He refused to get rid of him. He exited right along with Brooks.

Now Payton. He appears to be dying with his defensive coordinator who has shown absolutely no propensity for improving that part of the team. Add on to the fact that Payton with a healthy Deuce McCallister, refuses to balance the run with the pass. It's just not sexy enough for him to win that way. Throwing 40 passes a game is his winning formula. Well at least the stats look great. Drew Brees can thank him 15 years from now when he's enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

    What say you?

Ill say what Ive said a billion times. Instead of trying to please the fans by getting someone like Shockey how about some real contributors on defense? The Saints season will not be determined by another WR and TE, but a solid Nickel package could probably put the offense back on the field a little quicker.

And how much input do you think Mr. Payton has in determining whom we go after in both the draft and free agency?

    Just sayin.

It appears as though he would rather just win a game 34-31 every time out.

    badda bing.

Brooks got the wrap for the Haslett regime's failures, but the Saints offense scored 25+ points a lot of those years.

The problem always has been and always will be on the other side of the ball.

Aaron Brooks was a sack of shyt.

That's as eloquent as I could put it.

    2000 - 22 ppg
    2001 - 21 ppg
    2002 - 27 ppg
    2003 - 21 ppg
    2004 - 21 ppg

Only 1 good year offensively. The other 4 were underachievements.

This is true but all coaches that are offensive/defensive oriented are naturally going to look for players on their side of the ball. A front office with a pair will tell him stfu and go out and get two mid level CB's.

    What????????????

Brooks was a retard that enjoyed throwing INTs.

The problem with the Saints as I see it is 2 fold.

    1. We need to get rid of the useless weight that is Charles Grant and Will Smith along with they overpaid contracts! With dumping them we need another McCray type DE to play opp him.

Its not the DC fault when these 2 assclowns dont play hard on every play and cant get pressure on the QB! Our secondary is better this year, but hell a blind man can pick them apart if no one is getting pressure on the QB.

    2. Teams NO LONGER fear Reggie Bush when he is in at offense like they did when he first entered the league. Teams know he cant break the big run without the defense screwing up an assignment.

If Duece can not handle the full load then we need to get him an acuttal running back to help him. And use Bush as a scat back and dump passes to him coming out of the back field!
