Winston, I completely agree with you about ACORN. Those found guilty should indeed have spent some time in one of our fine Federal prison facilities. I do not like to see the democratic processed tampered with by either party. I am harping on the Republicans right now because they are the latest offenders but I was vocal about ACORN during the 2004 and the 2008 campaign. Anytime a party starts tampering with these things it gives the impression that they do not feel like they can win on their ideas alone and that makes me suspicious. Also, I am doubly suspicious because these efforts are only in swing states. If they truly cared about the integrity of the election process they would be pushing these laws in every state. As far as ID's go, I have no problem with an ID requirement as long as it is fair to everyone and they do not wait until an election year to try and quickly enact it.
1- Let's see this "ton" of evidence then. 2- Define Elitists for us, or at least your definition of elitists.
People that went to college. They think that makes them better than working folk. All those professors are liberals that brainwash kid into thinking communism is good--those kids should be going to church instead. Real men work hard and don't need no school to make a living. Don't need no government either. I just wish some conservatives would defend my position. Because I'm having a hard time coming up with this crap.
One man's brainwashing is another man's education. It's a sad day for this country when higher education is frowned upon by the very people who need it most.
I am a conservative, went to college, got a degree, and have plans to get more of it. I will need to ensure I am well equipped in the power of mind control.
I am a conservative as well though I have been more of a follower of Winston Churchill's maxin: "If you are not a liberal when you are young you have no Heart and if you are not a conservative when you get older you have no brain" It has been pretty well established by national polling (by respected organizations) over the years that most college professors are liberal and certainly the recognized elite universities (Ivy League etc) arevery liberal. It is funny that there are elitists in both parties...sorry but even BHO qualifies as an eliteist. It has been an aquired trait in his part. Mitt is an eliteist as well he just inherited it. Neither has any real contact or identification with the normal society. They have lived in a seperate strata for so long and live scripted lives that have no relationship to yours or mine. Don't blather on about BHO's growing up in the mean roots of society and his working as a community organizer. After he got out of school and began his political effort he left the "people" and never looked back. The one GOOD thing about both parties they all are open to new blood. Look at Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Condie Rice and BHO, Clinton etc all gained their admitance into the elite by dint of accomplishment. As long as there is an opportunity to join the club the US will be allright. The day the club is closed we die.
To move this convo back to Paul Ryan, here is a little more about the man. http://www.thenation.com/blog/169757/exclusive-paul-ryan-quietly-requested-obamacare-cash
