Bradie James is the ideal size for a MIDDLE LB or an Inside LB in a 3-4 scheme...which is what he plays. But outside guys need to be quicker and more agile because they draw a lot of cover assignments on TE and when they blitz they need to get there in a hurry. The game is getting stronger and faster. As I said before, at 6'3 230, Chad could easily pack on 15 pounds and barely lose a step. He runs a low 4.4, occasionally breaking 4.3. 15 pounds still puts him in that 4.4-4.5 range. That's crazy fast for a LB. I'm telling you, look at rosters and check those guys out. The league is littered with very good to great LB that are about the size of, or smaller than, Chad Jones. They're smaller because they have to be faster. He's got fast checked off already. As good as the SEC is, the NFL is the best of the best at every spot, even the practice squad. He struggled at safety until recently. But to his credit, he might just be scratching the surface. But like you say, he might prefer to play baseball anyway long term. From a financial and longevity standpoint, can't say I blame him...just seems like he'd be more of a sure thing in football than baseball.
He started reading his own headlines too much. I thought he was on his way to surpassing Champ when he was in Atlanta...then he went to the Oakland abyss...left there and went to the Redskins abyss. I still think he's talented, but he needs to shut and play. Go somewhere that he can perform under the radar. Noone knew how good Ashmougha was for the Raiders until D-Hall got there, but dude had been great for a while. He's the reason they let Woodson walk.
By the way, Ed Reed was a low first round pick. Sean Taylor was top 5 and was earning that status. RIP.
Yes, his teammate Kirk Morrison is as well. I met him in the Dallas airport a few years ago. He had on a blinged out Floating K pendant (even had the rubies on it) and I "hollered" at him. Found out who he was. Coincidentally, about a month after that, he had a small column in ESPN mag and mentioned being frat, had on the same pendant. Dude was cool. Bought lunch for me and my wife. I tried to decline but he was like, come on Nupe, I'm in the NFL. I'm at least makin the minimum, LOL. He ain't makin the minimum anymore! He was excited about Jamarcus at the time too...I tried to prepare him for the worst while hoping for the best.
Didnt know Morrison was as well. He is probably looking to buy you dinner now cause he should have listen to you about Jamarcus..:hihi:
LOL! And I didn't speak ill on him. I just told him they needed to give him time and keep him in the gym. I told him he has one of the best arms most of us will ever witness, but he has to stay in shape and he has to learn the playbook. If he gets fat, it won't be because he was eating donuts while reading the playbook and analyzing plays in his mind. It will be because he's eating cheeseburgers and analyzing desserts in his mind. Lo and behold...
That Dude is good!!!! I really didn't know anything about him before the Bama game. He ate Julio up in Saturday's game.
