No kidding. He was lit up by Jones on Saturday. I dont know how many catches Jones had but it seemed like a bunch and most of them where right on PP. I seem to remember PP getting beat by another one of their guys too.
No ****. It was more of a "Jones played a perfect or near perfect game" along with perfecrtly thrown balls. Tiger fans haven't seen a GOOD reciever in quite some time. PP played most of those catches as good as he could. The ball was ALWAYS placed perfect for Jones. The only thin PP could have done on the last catch by jones was take the inside. Even then, PP was right on him but Jones has about 2 inches over PP and if you look close, PP was about 2 inches from making that play. PP did very good. I guess yall forgot the great tackle PP made on Jones that forced Bama in a 3 and out.... among many other great tackles...
I don't see that. Perfectly thrown balls to the best WR in the conference, maybe in the nation, are impossible to defend. And other than this game, Peterson hasn't had a chance to defend a whole lot. His interference was a genius play. I wish he'd had more center-camera time this year, but he's a known commodity and teams have just chosen not to throw his way.
His coverage hasn't slipped. You are right GMac threw some perfect balls to Julio Saturday. I was talking about his involvement defending the run. He had 52 tackles last season, this season he has 28. He was always around the ball last year, making plays. This year not so much. Now, I think some of it may be due to the fact that teams are trying to stay away from him. I guess it really hit me against Auburn. 3 tackles. We could have really used a guy like him to step it up and make some more tackles in the running game. I am still very confident he is the best corner in the NCAA.
We're getting MUCH better D-Line and LB play this year. Typically, you don't want your DB's getting most of the tackles, because that only means the runner got past the first two lines of defense.
i agree, but he doesn't attack like he did last year. We were still really stout against the run last season with the front 4, they just didn't get much pressure on quarterbacks. Last season he attacked with a sort of reckless abandon.
I’m thinking we wouldn’t see it (if we do see it) in a bowl game. I think a bowl game would be prime time for it given they will have a few months to prepare and perfect it.
