Johnson may or may not be leaning our way, only he knows for sure. I think he is just enjoying the process. I wouldnt at all doubt him being a Tiger next year. Then again, I wouldnt doubt sticking with Miami or him signing with USC. I hope he becomes a Tiger but Ill just wait to hear it for sure because he talks a lot in circles.
uscvball, any date on that article on Johnson? It doesn't sound like any of the recent (since his LSU visit) Scout articles on him. For example, on Nov. 5: "After thinking it over, I've decided that LSU would probably provide a better opportunity for me at the next level” From an article by Florida's site: "Patrick is totally open at this time between four schools," Patrick Johnson, Sr. told FightinGators.com. "It is Florida, Miami, LSU and Southern Cal."
That article was from the Rivals Miami site and dated November 5th. Personally I think Florida is nothing more than a smoke screen. FWIW, I also believe that PJ's dad favors one school over the others.
It appears that Johnson is no long a Cane commit. he will decide in December after he takes his USC visit.
Well, if nothing else his recruiting has been entertaining. Here's the latest from Rivals Miami. A Georgia website reported yesterday that, after an official visit to the school, Johnson said, "I am opening things back up now. I am open to other schools and not committed to Miami. I am now looking at Georgia, LSU, USC and Florida too." Not so fast, says Patrick's father. "He didn't decommit," Patrick Sr. said. "The commitment is still there. Everything's still the same. You know how that goes – you hear different stuff from different people. "Pat knows what he's doing." Dad adds that "The commitment should still be there when it comes time to lock it down. He's still there. He just wants to keep his options open, see other schools, what they have to offer. The University of Miami is his first goal." Patrick Sr., his wife and Pat took the visit to Georgia together. Patrick Sr. says No. 2 on Pat's list behind Miami is LSU.
Every year there are a couple of kids like this...I'll just wait and find out before I write him off or look for his verbal.
