That makes a lot of good sense to me, but who knows with an 18 year old??? I'd love to see him come on down, Les has proven to be a man of his word. And if he didn't go to Michigan, he is here for the next 5 years at least. :geauxtige :crystal: :LSU231: :tigereye: :helmet:
It would also give us some consistancy at the CB position for 4 years with Jai, Phelon, Ron Brooks, Williams and Johnson. Not that you ever want to ignore any position, but with that many young guys, we pretty much would have starting left and right corners plus our nickel and dime set. We could then focus on other positions like RB, LB and QB.
Too bad some of these guys aren't playing for the Saints! Have they ever had a DB worth a darn?...ever? Bring back Tommy Myers. He's better at 60+ than our (Saints) current DBs. I sure would like to see us (LSU) continue to have quality DBs so we can continue to watch our DL smash QBs. This kid looks like the one to continue the tradition.
Mike McKenzie had a really good year, but other than that the Saints are pretty bad at corner. The safety situation is a question mark as well. They're both pretty talented but they've got a long way to go. Saints need to draft..someone on defense. Either Sedrick Ellis or Lauranitis if they're around..if not maybe Malcom Jenkins or that corner from South Florida (his name escapes me..Mike something).
There's a blast from the past! He was my favorite Saint of all time. Man played hard for many years, on otherwise forgettable teams. Played hard and had integrity for the game.
Interesting quote from PJ at the practices for the All American Game .... Said Johnson: "It's pretty neat but there are no LSU people (on the East team). It's neat that people are coming up to me saying, 'Come to my school. We have a lot alike.' It's pretty exciting." http://lsu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=756892
