If he is so stupid that he does not know the difference between Les Miles and Nick Saban, then let him go.
Maybe the kid was looking for a reason to drop LSU, I don't know. But if he's willing to listen, I'm sure that Miles can convince him he's staying with his in-home visit which I'm guessing is next week.
I can admit when I am wrong. I listen to an interview this morning on sports talk 560 in southflorida with P Johnson and he said that he was still 100% going to Miami, after visting USC. He said his dad wanted to get out and visit schools to try to test the atmosphere of the college life at other schools. But he says he is still committed to Miami.... So i was wrong in my intial post on what I heard about this kid.:geaux:  myself!!!
I also believe he will be a Cane but he never made his official visit to USC. Supposedly that will take place later this month with his dad but I have my doubts.
from what he said this morning, how good it was to visit California and to experience a little time out there. now, i dont know if that was a smoke screen from him or what, but he said it. If he does go to Miami, i dont want to see that kid lost in the shuffle of a rebuilding program.
Rivals posted this article this morning. December 4, 2007 Johnson believes Miles is gone Ely High School cornerback Patrick Johnson is a five-star prospect according to the latest Rivals.com rankings. The nation's top cornerback, Johnson is rated as the nation's third best overall player and the fourth-best overall player in the talent rich State of Florida. I wonder why he thinks Miles is gone after the press conferences and etc.
Let me clarify. He and his dad were out here last summer when PJ took part in a camp (Nike I think). He absolutely dominated the 7 on 7 games. His dad really enjoyed the time here and promised they'd be back during the season for an official visit. So while he did experience time in California, it wasn't an official visit and obviously he saw nothing of the school and nothing of a gameday experience. IMO, if you can't get out to see a school you're interested in when they play their most hated rival for an end of season game with a BCS Bowl bid on the line, you ain't comin.
I believe that, his talk this morning was strange. He is saying he wants to stay on the defensive side of the ball, however, he wants to play some receiver and return kicks. But he said he took visits to see if he fit in with the personel of the other teams and what their needs where. He said that playing right away meant everything to him. Well, he could play right away anywhere in the country, dont you think? If he is that good, does he loves the Canes that much(which he stated since childhood) or does he want to play and win and be recognized as that. Decisions like this determines whether you are going to pro or not. My example of that is Kyle Wright at UM.:tigereye:
Maybe Miles can convince this head strong young man that he's not leaving when Michigan hires a new coach (provided he's really not leaving).
Michigan needs to step on it then because if he's going to attend school in the spring he'll need to enroll in classes here very soon, won't he?
