It's uncanny how much we think alike, ggh. I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Yes, guys, football gets me THAT excited...
I wouldn't go that far. While PJ does look good, some of the guys opposite him do not look as good. The DLine is there. And LB is still a question, too. While yeah, if it all meshes, I think it can be a great season, LSU plays too many great offenses (Appy State included) to be No. 1 in total defense this year.
Eric Berry started for Tenn. as a freshman and IMO PJ is a better player than him not taking anything from Berry b/c he's a great player.
This is great news. I just love hearing reports starting to come out of camps. Gets the juices flowing. :geaux:
CB on talent more than any other position on defense. I have had scouts and coaches both tell me that a player can make an immediate impact there quicker than any other psotion on the field. Some guys take a little while because they don't have those elite physical gifts, but the ones that do will step right in and play and eventually dominate. Expect PJ to dominate...
Does TT have the 3rd WR spot locked up? I expect some new faces to get in the game this year, haven't been that impressed with the Mitchell's.
I don't know what TT's problem is but I have expected more from this guy. he seems to have a case of the LaFell's and it's holding him back. People tell me that the guy is getting by on talent alone and he's not focused on making himself better. Reportedly, he's a very poor route runner. I hope I am just getting bad info because the guy is capable of being a monster.
Check out Toliver's stats as a freshman compared to Dwayne Bowe's, Craig Davis's, Early Doucet's, Brandon Lafell's, and others. Receiver is not a position where people routinely come in and produce a lot early. It takes time. Toliver's production as a freshman was comparable to all of those guys'. He should be fine. He just has to learn the position.
I agree. That guy was a TRUE FRESHMAN last year, and stepped in to help out. He wasn't great, but he showed flashes. He needs to gain 15 lbs. from his HS weight, 185, that will help him. The jury is still out on TT, but he hasn't done anything to show that he has stopped developing. I am hopeful he will become the top notch receiver that we thought he was capable of being. 3 more years!
