You guys really want to know why I'm so keen on Anthony Jennings? First let me say I know no one cares but I'm gonna say it anyway. Oh and he is nothing like Jordan Jefferson, sucks y'all see him in that light but the 2 have no similarities in my opinion. When he was signed I thought he was going to be the shit. I really did, and rather than admit that I was completely wrong, it would be better if the light just came on. It probably won't and I'm almost certain I was very wrong, but it will be good for me and LSU if I'm right. Now as far as Harris goes, I've never gotten the feeling I had with Jennings about Harris. Harris looks more like Jefferson to me, so I'm going to start calling him Brordan Harrison.
Its good to like any LSU player. AJ is probably a fine young man and I hope he gets his degree and has a good life. Maybe one day you can draft him for you fantasy Canadian League or Arena Football league.
Finally you admit it even if maybe you're being facetious. But you've had a hard-on for Harris ever since you saw him not perform well in a bullshit skills competition. You made a number of posts about it. Nevermind the kid had just finished tearing up 5A football, throwing for over 3000 yards and only losing a championship because his defense sucked. But after you saw that, all of a sudden he was sooooo innaccurate. So over 3000 yards and 30 touchdowns in big boy football in Louisiana...but you don't see much. However Jennings showed you so much by passing for a whopping 800 yards his senior year. I know, I know, he did really well in the Elite 11 for his region...but seriously, go look at the list of the guys who've been a part of the Elite 11...it ain't all that. The vast majority of the final 11 guys haven't amounted to much of anything...and he was not one of the final 11. The outliers are the handful of studs. Don't get me wrong, I really like Jennings. I even agree with him starting right now, but he does not have near the upside Harris has. I am saying the only separation is knowledge of the playbook, and that's certainly fair. I'd rather the guy who knows the playbook even if he doesn't do much with it over the guy who only knows bits and pieces. The bits and pieces guy will flash from time to time but kill the team with his lack of knowledge. All Harris has to do is keep working and keep learning because as soon as his playbook knowledge catches up to his physical skills, the guy in front of him doesn't stand a chance. This is Marcus Randall and Jamarcus Russell...except this time we better hope Harris has the work ethic to learn and fine tune sooner rather than later. He'd be a fool to transfer.
You are right, he sucked majorly in that skills competition. You may think it's bullshit but he was under no pressure and with no pads And he couldn't throw a tic tac in a swimming pool. I'm not sure about anyone else but I think accuracy for a qb is pretty essential. That is a big reason I've been anti Harris. He reminds me of Jordan Jefferson. I can give you 100 players who were high school studs that amounted to nothing in college. What he did in high school means nothing. I'm not sold and I won't be until the guy proves he is a stud against real competition. That's not to say Jennings has either, he has been mediocre at best, terrible at worst. If the day ever comes that Harris is the man, I will root for him and hell I hope he succeeds, I hope he proves me 100% wrong, I'm just a caveman on a message board, if Harris turns out to be the godly messiah of quarterbacking everyone thinks he will be that's only good for LSU, and I will gladly eat crow.
Where are you getting this? Other than the Auburn game Harris has been throwing darts with just about every opportunity? One of us is missing something
He looked lost against Wisconsin, he was decent against Mississippi State's scout team, still threw an interception, and was Jeffersonesque against Auburn, and his one attempt at a pass against Kentucky was picked off. I don't care about how hard he throws the ball, he is very erratic. He was really good against New Mexico school of retarded Welders.
I don't think he threw a pass v Wisconsin. He threw how many TD's vs State? We have covered the auburn game, 1st start on the road and yes, he threw a pick in the Ky game that was a bad decision, one I'm sure he will learn from and not make again. Guess we have to agree to disagree. I'm fine with that.
How come Brandon Harris gets a pass for the Auburn game, 1st SEC start but Jennings doesn't get a pass for the MSST game 1st SEC start.
