I just heard on the morning news LSU is gong to build a 5-story parking garage with 750 spaces. I figured they had to do something considering they want additional revenue by charging to park. Maybe this will also help keep a few more people in their seats until the game ends. I believe many people leave early due to the parking and traffic problems. Maybe this will help a little or start LSU on the right track to solving gameday problems. I didn't hear where it's being built other than the "center" of campus.
Seems I heard they were going to put it somewhere near where the old baseball stadium was.. Not sure if I'm mistaken or not.
Nope, not this time. Over by Law Center and the Union. 2theadvocate.com | News | Work set to start on garage — Baton Rouge, LA
Nice info, but I'm a bit skeptical that existing parking fees and revenue from that one garage are going to self-fund the other 4 if the ultimate goal is to put 5 around campus, especially in LSU's current financial shape. I don't know, maybe the money does work out, but I smell yet another enormous student fee coming to pay for the remaining garages.
The master plan is just a plan. It was around for years before the state financial crisis and will be around for years afterwards. They build things as they can afford them.
