Welcome to dealing with law enforcement. I wish when I was at work, and someone asked me to do my job, I could just threaten to arrest them. This stuff burns me up. Guess what a-hole, your work for us. I don't care if 7000 tiger fans ask you, "why can't I park here?" Your job is to tell each of those 7000 fans, "sorry, this field is too muddy for cars but you can park at lot x and here are directions..."
yeah this. but seriously when going home i know what you mean sometimes. not to defend the cops, but i've worked with BRPD at events on LSU's campus like run/walks for charity, they are usually given a spot and like one direction (like don't let anyone turn left) and that's all they know to do. it seems no one is actually communicating with BRPD at LSU. but doing it without an attitude would be nice.
Well, I emailed [email protected] on Monday and explained the issue we had after the game. I just received a call from city of BR police. VERY courteous, apologetic, and nice to me on the phone! For our particular issue, he believes some barracades were forgotten about, as in not put out. Then police directed us in a direction that was blocked off by a patrol vehicle. He gave me route options to avoid the situation and also said he'd follow up with me in the morning. A very nice call and much appreciated! Now I at least know the traffic routes for the rest of this season. Game one of next season the fun starts all over again!
No issues after the game on Saturday. Took same router out of campus and the problem at the intersection was resolved. Anyone else have a better experience this time around?
yes and no. i took a different route back to my hotel because i didnt want to hit the same idiotic traffic snarl i did last time. but this time, even though not as bad, i hit one going a way i went all the time last year and didnt really have problems then. so i dont know what to think.
