Well it looks like we might turn our attention into invading Pakistan next.

Because you know they have Taliban , Al Qaeda, and WMDs there.

The excuses are really getting old.

    Afghan
    Iraq
    Egypt
    Libya
    Iran
    Syria
    Pakistan
    Who's next?

At some point these countries will have a similar interest (hating the US) and eventually get together.

Great foreign policy we have. Creating enemies.

Not to mention the foreign aid we give Pakistan. Which went from about 3M in 01 to 700M last year.

Take from the poor here and give to the rich elsewhere. Good job.

We decommissioned our wing of f117 stealth fighters. The angled ones that were first generation stealth. We should sell them cheap to isreal and let them take care of the problem with Iran. They have the balls to do it.

Israel can take care of themselves now. It's funny we claim to be their friend yet arm their enemies. Hypocrisy.

Oh I saw Egypt now has a majority Islamist rule. Good work foreign policy.

That's the problem. They don't always have the good judgement that goes with it.

    a few thoughts:

    1. Pakistan is not a Arab country and they are not threatening Israel. Their enemy is India and they are obsessed with them. Iran is also not an Arab country, their bluster about Israel is for internal consumption. They will fund Hezbollah and Hamas, but they will not be attacking Israel overtly. It would be national suicide.

    2. We pay for the defense of Israel. We can't give them offensive strike aircraft without being part of whatever they decide to do with them . . . things that may not be in the best interests of America.

    3. We retired the F-117's because they were no longer very stealthy, one was shot down over Yugoslavia. The latest radars can detect 1st generation stealth aircraft under the right conditions. They probably won't fly again, now that the F-22 is fully operational.

The f117 is still a major upgrade from what Israel uses now. I'm sure if they had stealth aircraft they would be alot bolder in what they attempted.

Exactly whey thy will never get pure attack aircraft like that from us. It would be like giving them missiles.

The real answer to all of this is to eliminate our dependency on mid-East oil. Totally

Without their oil, we would not give a rats azz about those ragheads. Yeah, jack up gas to $5.00 a gallon, then cut military spending and all that foreign aid back. We would be way ahead in the mid to long term, and we would not have to have more Americans die for those people.

It is so simple, but requires a tad of higher order thinking. Oops..guess we are in trouble.

It is impossible to eliminate foreign oil purchasing. We use too much and don't have enough domestic reserves.

Worse, worldwide oil production has already peaked and we are running out rapidly. Why deplete our reserves when we can still get relatively cheap oil from overseas? Deplete their reserves first. In 100 years when oil is at $1000 a barrel, we will still have some. And those who don't will be in sorry shape. World Wars will be fought for access to oil.

We could decrease the amount of oil we use drastically by using nat gas to run our cars. I have thought out how. We have all seen where you can exchange propane bottles prefilled at convience stores. This is the same idea. You can have cylinders with five gallons of nat gas prefilled in them. Have the fuel system to where you , by using a simple twist lock system, replace a fuel cylinder that's empty with another that's prefilled. You could have four or more cylinders that could be exchanged. There would be no need for costly storage tanks. All filling of cylinders would be done at a factory. The auto industry could do this. It wouldn't be that hard. Every car engine on the road today can run on nat gas with about a thousand dollar modification. We have enough nat gas to last us until batteries are developed that last.
