Actually, I think Rwilliams is right. If the US gov't wanted to secue the border they could. They choose not to....but they don't announce it officially of course.
Of course we choose not to. Because immigrants add tremendous value to our economy. To secure the border would cost hundreds of billions of dollars and would strip a vital asset, cheap labor, away from us. This should be good, but why is it that you think we choose not to secure the border?
A fence won't work. Only targeting employers will work. Allow them to work only if they follow the law and get the proper paperwork as the law allows
