He has an image to protect and has to keep 1,000 sponsors happy. He probably doesnt think it is a big deal, but GE, Coke, and others probably do. Its no different than Miles kicking a few players off of the team that normally would have been kicked off. It just happened to come at a time when our image was in question. Now that whole London idea -- miiiight be too far fetched.
I agree with it as well, the last 10 years he has done some good things for the image of the league, but as far as team ownership and the CBA, he pretty much sucks at that. The NFL, just doesnt let any Tom, Dick or Harry own or buy an NFL franchise. Stern should learn something from that and try to avoid another Atlanta and Seattle situation.
You need to take off the blue & white glasses. Seriously. Last time I checked, the police weren't a party to the labor agreement between the NFL & the NFLPA. Break the rules - you pay the price.
the dallas cancer's have added: NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys have acquired Roy Williams from the Lions for "at least" one first-round pick.
What are you talking about Clair? Goodell was given a mission to clean up the NFL's image and he has delivered in spades. The sponsors wanted it and the owners wanted it. Its their league and "THEY" considered it broken. Those with the gold make the rules and the sponsors are supplying the gold. Jones knew he was on a short leash and I dont blame Goodell for laying the wood to his azz. Dont believe the explanation given by Jerry Jones either because if thats all it was there would be no suspension. A co-worker from Dallas told me Jones body guard was trying to restrain him from getting into bigger trouble when Jones unloaded on him in the restroom. No way he gets suspended for that little fender bender being publicly reported without some mitigating circumstances in play. There is more going on here and thats why it took a week for the decision to come down.
