Johnson's stubbornness to only play man-to-man is hurting this team. No single guy on the team can handle Ogilvy, especially with him traveling every other time he touched the ball.

I am VERY VERY disappointed in LSU for not dropping the banner before the game. I am madder about that than I am about the game itself. Did they not even realize that losing was a possibility? That they could get to "celebrate" with half the crowd filing out and the players without a single smile? That was AWFUL planning on the AD's part.

I'm not sure a zone would have been all that effective either, considering their perimeter shooters were having a good night. What did hurt was the inability to make a defensive adjustment with the double team where Vandy posted Ogilvy and isolated their wing shooter (#00) for the kickout. Vandy just kept running that same play over and over in the 1st half and we couldn't stop it.

Yeah, after a lot of fans had already left when we started fouling. It was a bit embarrassing watching our fans clear out while CTJ was talking up the student section and how great our fans were.

he probably wanted to wait til after so the team wouldnt think they had nothing to play for.

seems that they felt that way anyhow.

Wait, the Tigers came back to tie it, and it's the man to man that killed us? I didn't watch the game, but c'mon. Vandy shot well, Ogilvy played a good game, and the Tigers were a little flat.

A loss right now may not be the worst thing. I'm more concerned about the banner dropping business and the fans LEAVING business. It could have been perhaps dropped earlier, but then the flip side is you do that right before a game which perhaps is classless right before a tip off. In any case, the point is that the fans should have stayed to the end even with a loss, to celebrate this championship with a team that deserves it. Again, sometimes I just wonder if local fans get the sport of basketball. It's a 30 game season, you win some and you lose a lot. This team may only lose 2 or 3 SEC games, which is crazy. I hope that there weren't any recruits in the building...

Vandy shot well because all they shot were layups!

For the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half, They scored 24 points, and 19 were either from lay-ups or FTs. They finished with a few jumpers, but when one team has 58 points, and 40 were in the paint, something is wrong.

LSU made one field goal in the final 5 minutes (after Thornton tied it with an and-1 shot).

Obviously if a team shoots 50% from the floor they'll have a great shot at winning. You can't expect to make half your shots every night though.

I'm exaggerating a bit here when I say half, but I'd be shocked if LSU shot much higher than 20-25% from the floor during that 8-9 minute cold streak. If they shot 35-40% that would have made a big difference. And it wasn't like LSU didn't have some good looks, those shots just didn't fall.

I think LSU started somewhere in the range of 3-18.

I am more concerned about LSU's opponents averaging over 70 points per game for the last 6 games.
