Federer is soon to go down as the most dominant tennis player ever, if he's not already considered that. Simply amazing - and he's only, what, 26??

Yeah but 26 is getting up there a little bit in tennis years. He needs to take advantage of these next 3-4 years. It's hard to project if he will be the type of player to stave off injuries and keep in top flight shape to dominate into his early thirties and then some. Knowing him, there's no putting it past him. Agassi arguably played his best tennis in his late 20s and early thirties (from about 28-33 years old).

I agree, but at 26, it appears he's accomplished more up to this point than Sampras or Agassi did.

"appears" is correct, but a closer look reveals a much different story:

Sampras - 11 grand slam titles at age 26 (would win only 3 more)
Federer - 9 grand slam titles at age 26

Born in the same month just around when Wimbledon is played

Federer will win the Australian Open this weekend, so that makes 10. I don't think he will win the French (Nadal will dominate this tourney in the forseeable future). So that would mean Wimbledon would make 11, the same as Sampras had in his career.

I think most had the same opinion of Sampras dominating the sport as they do Federer right now. But for whatever reason Sampras failed to win the US Open or Australian after that point (except for the memorable swan song 02 US Open), I think this coincides with the resurgence of Agassi's career when he won a few Australians and another couple of US Opens.
