Well, that's an appealing idea, but Bama has been giving up only 60 yd/gm on the ground and only 1 rushing TD all season. Totally shut down Clemson's vaunted rushing duo and held Knowshon to only 34 yds. Easier said than done. That Bama defense is no joke to try to run against.

Containing Clemson isn't exactly impressive. You held Moreno to 34 yards on 9 carries by jumping up on the scoreboard and forcing them to play catch-up. You took him [as an option] out of the game.. you didn't stop him as a runner.

If we don't have to play catch-up like UGA I think our rushing attack will put up at least 100yds.

Bama has outscored all of their opponents by a wide margin in the first quarter. This is why their opponents rushing games have been lacking. They have taken most teams away from their game plan and forced them to be more pass happy. If we go down early like we did against UGA and UF, it's going to be a long afternoon. We need to keep the run game in the mix until late in the game.

It's a mistake to underestimate LSU's offensive line and running backs, Bud.

I'll take a couple stops (3 'n out) over a pick six any day.

We HAVE to run more than pass and force Bama to stop us. Our strength is in the o-line and RBs.

It really depends which LSU shows up...we couldn't get the run going against against Florida rush D, which is pretty good, however, we ran really well against Georgia rush D, which is second to Bama. So who knows.

THE single most important difference.... GoGo boots...

BAMA high-steppers wear them and its HOT!

I love the LSU band... except for the lack of GoGo boots on the gals...

    shallow? maybe...

Oh, I don't underestimate LSU's O line or running backs. You have good players there. I'm fully aware that some of our success in holding top backs to low yardage has been due to jumping on teams early and forcing them to abandon the run in order to try and play catch up through the air.

On the other hand though, don't make the mistake of believing that's the only reason Bama is #2 in the nation against the run. A D line that was supposed to be our weakness going into the season has played extremely well, as have our linebackers. McClain is one of the top 3 LB's in the country and true freshman Hightower has played like a veteran.

Cody is the big difference in a lot of ways though. It takes at least 2, and often 3 guys to block him - and even then you don't move him aside; you just keep him from penetrating and collapsing your middle. That frees up at least 1 extra lineman or linebacker. Almost like having 12 guys on D. With him in the game, you can't run effectively inside the tackles, period.
