Outside of the QB what is the major difference in Alabama and LSU?

Here's the deal. As mentioned before, I didn't expect him to play to a high level this early in his career. He was thrown into the pit. However, I just want him to learn from his mistakes and it doesn't seem like he's learning. It like he freaks out in the pocket. He needs to gain some composure. He'll get there. Mainly, I just disagree with with how everyone seems to coddling the kid. It's one thing to make mistakes, but he's repeating the same mistakes over and over again. That said, he's got talent, we see shades of it every game, but he's got impeccable timing for throwing key interceptions.

I called your argument a reach because I think those situations are apple to oranges.

    Quite simple. Emotion.

Very few people here want to accept the facts of the comparisons. Very few people will treat "he is a RSF" as more than a token statement. Quite obviously, winning is all that matters to many fans and it is so much easier to lay it at the feet of a QB than the various breakdowns that all contribute to a loss, which includes Lee's play at times.

It is really tiresome and a losing battle. Walk with the "w" and 50% of these people will never squeak again. You saw many of the same people throw Flynn under the bus last year, and Russell the year before that. It's depressing to see but only the "w" will make it stop.

I've never been sure of this. When do you officially burn you redshirt? Or how?

No one is coddling him. We have multiple threads asking for Jefferson or Sheppard already.

I pretty much expected exactly what we're getting. A kid that can't think fast enough to keep up with the defenses. And defenses are preying on him because of it.

Someone else may be able to give a more accurate answer, but to my knowledge, you burn your redshirt once you've appeared in a set # of games/plays.

That used to be the case. Now, I think if you play one down and don't get hurt, the RS is burned.

JJ has burned his shirt. Technically you burn it if you appear even one play, but there are medical redshirt exceptions. I don't know the exact numbers but believe you can only play in 1/4 or less of your games(4), and they must be in the first 1/2 of your schedule. You must prove a medical issue or you lose the year.

A few weeks ago, Miles claimed JJ would get a legitimate medical for an injured shoulder. A week later he is throwing it 30+ yards downfield in warmups. You can decide if his injury was serious.

Regardless, his redshirt is gone now.

I'm not sure about that. This from research on the web...

"In other cases, a player may be granted a redshirt if he or she has participated in less than 10% of the season taking place in an academic year."
