Outside of the QB what is the major difference in Alabama and LSU?

The most glaring difference between the two is the QB position. You have a senior QB vs a RS freshman QB in the toughest conference in the league. It's almost impossible to win this or any other league with a freshman QB.

From a talent standpoint I really don't see alot of difference. The Bama players are no more talented than we are. Our speed matches anybody but UF.

The other major difference in the two teams is coaching. We are seeing an LSU team that doesn't play inspired football and is very undisciplined. That plain and simple is coaching.

How about saving your saban love post until after the game has been played.

Left Coast Ramah as always had a woodie for Saban and a hard on for Miles. He's just had to keep it in the holster until this season.

LSU does have more quality depth than Bama.

Bama is one injury away from blowing the season. If Wilson goes down, it's a totally different season.

If they can shut him down, and LSU actuall RUNS more than passes... we win.

Alabama is much better at run defense (#2 in the nation) than passing defense (#34) but maybe that will work out for you. Scoring defense 6th, Total defense we ar #4. Stats don't win games but winning games do usually improve stats.

JPW has run the Bama offense at least 95% of the time, we have let the backups in very little but we do have a couple we have some confidence in. Greg McElroy followed Chase Daniel at Southlake Carrol HS also winning the Texas State HS Championship. Thomas Darrah is third string but has impressed the coaches with his arm strength. No one can accuse us of being a passing team but Alabama has thrown fewer passes than 100 other teams but has completed a higher percentage than around 70.

Good luck should be a heck of a game.

LSU's talent matches up to anybody in the country except for two positions. The secondary is minus a field general and has a lot of youth at the corners. That hurts but not nearly as much as the QB position.

People are slamming the coaches for not having recruited more QB's but I think we're just stuck in a bad position.

Flynn is gone and Perrilloux was rightfully kicked off the team. Lee was the next in line. Even if the coaches had known about Perrilloux and Lee, how could they have provided quality time for another QB last year to gain experience? They couldn't so we have to live with what we've got.

Unfortunately Lee has performed so badly that the opposing teams have a lot of options. We can't stretch the field so they're stacking the line on us. When we fall behind and have to pass, they can blitz or sit back and pick it off.

I can't believe Lee hasn't developed enough to avoid telegraphing every pass.

If we had an average "no mistake" QB, I think we win the SEC West. Unfortunately you can cover an injury or weakness in most positions but not at QB and in the secondary. Our two weakest positions are in the worst possible spots.

Very well said. I agree. an average QB that doesn't hurt you gives this team a huge advantage. We just didn't get that in Lee. He makes the same mistakes over and over. With Hatch hurt we are stuck with Lee since they don't want to burn the redshirt on Jefferson.
