Cause if I'm not mistaken, while the conference champ goes to the BCS, the Capital One gets the next pick from the SEC teams. Normally, the SECCG runner-up is good enough to go to Orlando for the Cap One, but in our case, UGA was high enough in the BCS standings that they got a BCS bid, and UT's 4th loss of the season in the SECCG was too much for the Cap One, so they obviously (and accurately, IMO) took Florida. The Cotton Bowl has first pick for a WEST DIVISION SEC team over the Outback....and the Outback has first pick for an EAST DIVISION team over the Cotton. Basically, Cotton can trump Outback for a West Division team and the Outback can trump the Cotton for an East Division team. That's why you won't see LSU in the Outback unless something comepletely strange happens where there aren't enough bowl-eligible teams from the SEC East. ...and you don't see any SEC East teams in the Cotton. Traditionally, the Cotton Bowl is more prestegious than the Outback....
I loved having Phil on the opposite sideline for the SECCG but now that I want Tenn to win, he is a liability. :rolleye33:
