Texas is showing an imaginary spike as y’all predicted. Them free dollars from the Fed just can’t be passed up.

I know! Plano now has 0 COVID hospitalizations, down from 1 earlier in the week.

There is so much lunacy currently, I don't even know what to think. All along, I wasn't afraid of this virus. And just when I think 2020 can't suck any worse, we have hoards of people burning and looting major US cities....and (supposedly) a "spike" in COVID.

But the spike is absolutely not from protests/riots, but rather, Memorial Day weekend.

"Spike" has just about made it to number 1 on the words I am sick and tired of hearing. How can there be a new "spike" every day?

EDIT: I just opened the Raleigh (NC) News and Observer on-line edition. Huge headline incorporating "spike." Damn.

Where to begin with words that "trigger" me: spike, social distancing, for the greater good, pandemic, new normal, second wave. The list could go on and on.

    Very weak link....

“Lee, as president used to say to his assembled faculty and students, ‘The eyes of the South are upon you,’” Gordon said. “When Prather became president of the Univeristy of Texas, he began saying at the end of his talks to students and faculty that ‘The eyes of Texas are upon you.’

“Students, as students will do, decided to make fun of that and created a satirical song that have words that were appropriate to the University of Texas,” Gordon continued. “Those are the words of the song, and they put it to the tune of a well-known song, which was ‘I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.’”
