Our offense put up 400 yards and 38 pts...now our defense, on the hand, stunk...

Our offense, other than the 3 fumbles, was fine, especially playing in the rain ...

But what happened to our D? We gave up 300 yards and 22 pts to Towson?!?! They ran on us for about 200 yards and 5 yards per carry

The good news is Alabama didn't look so hot last night...their offense was only able to put up 300 yards on Ole Miss, while their D gave up 200

To give you an idea of how poor our rush D was last night...if we gave up 188 yards rushing to every team we faced, our rush D would be currently ranked #96 in the country

We didn't convert a first down until at least the 4th quarter if we even did at all, I can't remember the 4th that well because I was half ass watching at that point, and we looked like crap but I knew we had the game sealed. But regardless, how is 0 conversions on 3rd down, and all kinds of penalties against the 12th best FCS school "fine".

The defense was uncharacteristic and made mistakes, yes, but they have to be given at least a little slack for being put in precarious situations. A lot of their yards came from that quarterback running and us just flat out missing tackles.

They are not without fault but I'm not worried about the defense, I'm worried about this offense.

Pretty sure most of those Towson points came off of short-yardage turnovers by our "fine" offense.

There was plenty of blame to go-around last night. Fine is the last word I would use to describe either side of the ball or special teams last night.

Interesting to think about it. Ordinarily, we should be happy with 38 pts and 400 yds of offense. Funny how the game works sometimes. In fact, Mett put up close to 240 yds, which I believe is his best to date. We'd have been downright giddy if JL/JJ were putting up those numbers!

Towson's two TD's in the 4th quarter were long drives (64 and 80 yards) when our D was likely gassed. Towson doubled their game yardage in the 4th quarter; we were doing okay up to that point. Of course, entering the 4th quarter, the outcome really wasn't in doubt, regardless of our sloppy play.

The running QB is where we gave up the running yards. The game was over in the fourth, our D was wet and tired, and they missed tackles. TOP hurt the D last night, too.

Trust me, our D ain't the problem.
