I can't stand when they read off those things.......when is the last time a President gave a speech and didn't read a teleprompter? 20-30 years? I dunno but I think they should be required to give most of them off the cuff, then you better know what kind of person you have up there. Presidents/Politicians are molded statues, could just put a mannequin up there and play a recording. And no I didn't watch, I can't stand the sight of obama, literally. Heard it was good though, for whoever Toby/Sam wrote it.
Toby and Sam are the speechwriters on the show the West Wing. Rob Lowe and the bald guy. I don't care for the guy either but the speech was great. You're correct about the teleprompters. They don't do anyone Justice.
Who cares? Everybody's after something. It's not actually a bad arrangement, amigo . . . as human history proves.
Mentioned Obama's Selma speech, which was a great speech, however I think it also needs to be mentioned that President George W Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush were there too. Kudos to President Bush and his wife for attending.
