247Sports Crystal Ball pointing to the home-state Tigers as the favorite for Sopsher. I guess there are lots of different opinions.

Ngata is from Tonga, he probably wouldn't pulverise anyone for saying he's Samoan, just correct them,.. but I dare anyone to say it to his face a second time. I suspect it's kinda like some blowhard saying,.. people from Arkansas, and people from Louisiana, and people from Florida, are the same,.. it's ignorant lazy thinking, inconsiderate and insulting.

There is an effort to preserve the French language in Louisiana but it seems to focus more on traditional From than Cajun.

Only one French, just dialect. Even English varies by region. Heck, up nawth, what we call a faucet they call a spigot or spicket? Not sure how it’s spelt.

I remember Dr. Barry Ancelet showing us where in some cases, the “Cajun” French was more grammtically correct.

I'll clarify. I don't believe Ish ends up at LSU. I never felt he was anything but Bama during this past season, but his visit went well and if not for the relationship with his dad and Petito I think the Tigers probably would close with him. Rodney Jr. being classified as 2020 hurt the LSU chances for sure since Saban obviously wasn't going to let Ish dictate his use of scholarships and LSU was willing to play ball with his demands out of desperation. His father's recent comments reaffirm that I think Ish ends up with the Tide, but my confidence was just that I do believe LSU is in the game and there's a minor chance for an upset whereas before it was a no chance whatsoever in my mind. Hopefully that makes sense..

For the record, I think Young will be much better than Ish and if given a choice between the two I would love to flip Young over taking Ish, but it appears Bama will snag both. Sucks since Young was an LSU fan growing up, but Dennis Johnson has done a terrible job with the MS kids and the DL recruiting this cycle in general.. The hope was Young and Ish would not both choose the same destination and they would split, but it appears both end up in Tuscaloosa at this point. Crazy.

If we don’t finish strong I’ll be disappointed. I don’t love all these apparent head case kids, though. Take em only out necessity if you can’t find equal talent that have their heads on straight. I think competing for NCs will help that, something O hasn’t proven he can do.

There is or was an immersion class being taught on it in the Acadiana area but I don't know if it is still around. My nephew was in it.

I doubt that it is mainly because there is no one to teach it.

Funny story, one of my friends growing up was very fluent in cajun french because it was the only language his grandfather spoke. Whenever he would get around my grandfather they would always talk french about me and piss me off.

In reality they were talking about plowing fields or fixing a lawnmower but it would still piss me off and they knew it.
