He just has no desire to score the basketball. He is so worried about getting everyone else involved, which is great, but it's become a fault now. He could have dominated that game yesterday. The way to cool off shooters is to slow the game down, run a half court offense, go inside out, move the ball and get it to Simmons in the low post or run pick and roll. That way if you get Simmons down in the paint with the ball they would probably double him, then all he has to do is kick to the open guy for a shot.

The Tigers look like they are playing a street game.

Even so, they played a hell of a game yesterday. I can't be mad at that performance. 14 - 3 pointers doesn't happen a lot, and if I'm OU I'm worried. That's not always gonna be there.

i think they average 11 per game. but they likely won't be ranked 1 after next week just because it adds a lot of pressure.

simmons is going first. no top 3 qualifier needed.

Damn, looks like they average around 85 per game, maybe 90 I didn't do the math just looked at their scores, but that's over a 3rd of their ppg coming from beyond the arc. That's gonna bite them in the ass, they aren't Golden State.

You're probably right, but don't you think the scouts notice that Simmons seems to be a non-factor down the stretch in many big games? Don't you think the desire and ability to take charge of a game is a prerequisite for a number one?

jones has to push for this or they likely struggle against running teams like OU. we played pretty out of our minds with 11 threes and still lost. gotta slow that shit down. we like to run but are more effective in half court sets. get the ball to numero uno. jones shouldnt be worried about offending simmons since hes only got a few games with him left anyhow.

hield and woodard shoot over 52% from 3 on the season and 47% as a team. so yeah they kinda are gs.

    Team Scoring
    RK TEAM GP PTS FGA/M FG% 3PM/A 3P% FTM-FTA FT%
    6 Oklahoma 20 85.4 29.8-62.7 .476 11.3-24.2 .468 14.5-20.1 .719

pretty insane their team fg% and 3pt% is the same.

Maybe. Heild was ripping and tearing and has been most of the season.

I'll go a step further, he's very raw and can't take over against a solid d. He's distributing the ball, but it's not like those other guys are scoring machines either. He just doesn't have it at this point.

Quarterman was on fire, but he always looks nearly out of control and rough around the edges. It looks like he is carrying the ball (walking) every possession and despite hitting 3s at a good clip, they don't look too polished.

I was hoping to get more production out of Hornsby, and Patterson had another mostly empty game. He really seems like he should be better than he is, almost like he isn't in synch with the rest of the team.

And despite his shortcomings, I thought cJJ put a pretty good product on the floor yesterday. We aren't one of the top programs in the nation, but more so than any coach in recent history, I feel like Jones is moving us in that direction. So take that Dickie V.

17 page basketball thread, not too shabby.

awesome game. proud of the tigers.

    the box score is unreal.

thisll sound stupid, but i think a loss may help the team more than a win. obviously not their ncaa resume, but how they develop.
