Just an interesting tidbit on UCI, their coach last year was Dave Serrano who had come to UCI after several VERY successful seasons as the recruiting coordinator/pitching coach for Cal State Fullerton. After taking the Anteaters to their first CWS appearance last year he left to go back to Fullerton (pulled a Saban basically) replacing Horton who had moved on to Oregon. The Anteaters are currently coached by Mike Gillispie who was the Head Coach at USC for 20 years. Gillispie, along with Jerry Kindall, is one of only two individuals who have both played for and coached a College World Series champion.
Through eight innings: Nebraska 0-1-0 Oral Roberts 8-15-1 WOW!!! I have relatives in Omaha who love having LSU fans in town for the CWS and cheer for the Tigers when they make the CWS. The only problem is their loyalty to the Cornhuskers trumps their affection for LSU. It looks like it won't be a problem as Nebraska didn't show up today.
